News & Events - College Summit Launches New College-Going Culture Initiative for K-8 in New Haven

September 26, 2011 - College Summit Launches New College-Going Culture Initiative for K-8 in New Haven

New Haven Promise announced the full launch of “Pathway to Promise,” a new preK-8 college-focused initiative created in partnership with College Summit. Pathway to Promise, coupled with the expansion of College Summit in additional New Haven high schools, creates a comprehensive preK-12 college-going program designed to ensure that students hear about college early and often.

College Summit developed a set of K-8 supports for the partnership, including age-appropriate goals, milestones and suggested activities for students in grades K-8.   Through this new initiative, students in all elementary and middle school classrooms will master core understandings and embark on their yearlong journey toward future success.
