BlackRock – A $300,000 grant has been awarded to College Summit to support two efforts: 1) The creation and staffing of an internal office of analysis as well as the development of an analytics advisory board to maximize the effective use of College Summit data to support its college access work in partner high schools nationally; 2) Expansion of College Summit’s reach locally in the Bay Area, working with high schools to identify best practices and increase college-going results for low-income students.
Citi Foundation – A $1.5 million 2-year initiative to support 2 college access programs was awarded: 1. To train peer leaders and educators in using community organizing and social networking techniques to inspire and motivate a college-going culture in CS partner schools; 2. To develop our financial education program with parents and students; educators; peer leaders; and support a marketing campaign to encourage participation at each level.
Darden Restaurants – A $600,000 grant was awarded to engage Darden in College Summit’s college-going work in two areas: 1. supporting increased college-going in the National Capital Region and in Southern California through support of developing peer leadership skills in motivating classmates to enroll in college; 2. recognizing the achievements of peer leaders through the development and support of Peer Leader Awards events in 8 markets – Miami, New York City, Northern CA, Southern CA, DC Region, South Carolina, St. Louis, and West Virginia.
MetLife Foundation – A grant was received to develop curricula and provide training to teachers, counselors and peer leaders for a student coaching program that helps low-income students articulate their goals and expand their career horizons.
