The structure and type of work in our Sites is distinct from what you will find in our National Headquarters. Working in a College Summit Regional Office
College Summit’s work with school districts and students occurs on the ground in several locations – Northern California, Southern California, Colorado, Missouri, West Virginia, South Carolina, Miami, Connecticut, the National Capital Region, and New York City. Our regional offices each have a similar structure, with the number of staff varying with the number of students we reach in that region. The small office size and structure are designed to create a dynamic environment where operating effectively as a team is absolutely critical to success.
The descriptions below provide a brief overview of the structure of a College Summit Regional Office:
- Executive Director – oversight of regional operations; responsibility for relationship development with school districts and colleges, as well as philanthropy.
- Program Manager or Director – oversight of regional program outcomes; responsibility for individual school relationship management and college renewals.
- School Partnership Manager – manages day-to-day relationships with high school partners, providing technical assistance to school counselors and teachers to help them achieve their goals of raising college enrollment rates and building college-going culture. As sites increase the number of school partnerships, new High School Coordinators are brought on board.
- Development Coordinator (or Associate) – leads research of potential donors; liaison with the national grant writing team; writes grant proposals and reports as needed.
- Operations Associate – supports all office functions; assists program implementation in schools; manages workshop preparation. – supports all office functions; assists program implementation in schools; manages workshop preparation.
Working in College Summit’s National Headquarters
Within College Summit’s National Headquarters (which is distinct from our Site serving communities in the National Capital Region), the team is responsible for providing tools and systems to support the work of our school partners, from designing and testing curriculum to building the infrastructure that will support the organization for years to come.

Growth Strategy & Development
- Growth Strategy – crafts strategy around College Summit’s expansion; oversees National Partnerships, New Sites, and Strategic Partnerships teams.
- National Partnerships – builds relationships with corporate, foundation, individual, and government funders; manages policy initiatives.
- New Sites – identifies and coaches community leaders to launch new College Summit sites.
- Strategic Partnerships – researches and develops relationship development strategies, and trains employees on related tools and techniques.
Program
- Program Development – researches, develops, and evaluates program curriculum for summer workshops and school-year programs.
- Program Management – develops and provides support and training to program staff in the field; ensures quality control of program elements.
- Program Services – manages workshop operations, volunteer recruitment, and Educators’ Institutes.
Service Operations
- Finance & Accounting – prepares and analyzes financial data to improve the affordability of College Summit’s program.
- Marketing – develops brand and marketing strategy; manages external communications, public relations, and events.
- Strategic Initiatives – analyzes and manages reports, including enrollment and retention data; supports college partner research and engagement process.
- Technology – builds technology infrastructure to support scale and school partnerships, in addition to supporting day-to-day needs of the organization.
Site Management
- Manages operations of existing College Summit sites.
Human Assets
- Recruits, trains, and supports all College Summit employees.
