Resource Library

In College Summit’s Resource Library is a collection of papers, articles, and reports that address the academic, cultural, and governmental issues that directly impact guiding students from high school to college.

Each page contains reports pertaining to a certain area that plays a role in getting students to and through college. The Resource Library provides links to all of the articles, article summaries, and direct quotations to especially relevant passages.

College-Going Culture” houses those reports that discuss the extent to which setting the expectation that every student go to college is both necessary to ensure that more students do go to college, and also useful for getting academic buy-in while students are still in high school.

The “Postsecondary and Financial Aid Planning”  page contains those reports finding that it is necessary to help students conduct a thorough college search and inform them of various financial aid options to ensure that they are aware of the feasibility of college-going, and find their best match college. As frequently noted in these reports, this is especially necessary for first generation college-goers.“

On the “Using Postsecondary Data to Improve High Schools”  bookshelf are the papers that address the importance of building longitudinal data systems and how providing data to high schools on the performance of their graduates in postsecondary institutions can be helpful to the high schools’ staffs.

Economic & Social Value of College Attainment” contains papers that address the economic, social, and societal benefits of increasing college-going in the United States.

Education Reform Recommendations and Efforts” contains the articles and papers which suggest ways in which the government can implement reforms to increase the college-going rate of our nation’s youth.
