“The combination of funding and volunteering secures the partnership with College Summit; through the Writing Coach role volunteers become personally invested and gain a true understanding of what College Summit really does. You see your dollars at work and lives actually being changed. A funder that volunteers shows commitment by giving beyond money. ”
- Sara DiManna, Program Administrator at the ECA Foundation
"Seeing and hearing from the students at the Let Talent Shine banquet in July was truly moving. After overcoming more than their share of challenges already, here they were rising to the new challenge of pursuing a college education. Although for some of these students, that night may have been the first time to be honored and recognized, I have to believe that for many of them, it will mark but the first of a series of such honors throughout their lives."
- Jeff Peierls, The Peierls Foundation, Inc
“I have championed College Summit within our foundation and throughout the community because of the critical need they are addressing and their consistent demonstrated results. In addition to their proven results, what I find so compelling about the College Summit model is that it provides a system for low-income high schools that ultimately reforms the way a school approaches the post secondary planning process for all of its students.
- Phil Gonring, Senior Program Officer at the Rose Community Foundation
“College Summit does a great job of helping low-income college students overcome the barriers to attending college. Their work has proven to be a strong fit with The Denver Foundation's funding priorities."
- Rebecca Arno, Vice President of Communications at The Denver Foundation
College Summit Colorado is grateful to the following corporations and foundations who support our work in Colorado.
The Daniels Fund
The Daniels Fund’s initial involvement with College Summit-Colorado began in 2000 when the foundation supported our Summer Workshop season to ensure successful youth development and educational achievement for Metro Denver students. This foundation became one of the founding supporters and has positively impacted our work and our success in the region. Collaboration with the Daniels Fund has allowed College Summit-Colorado to become a college prep provider to identify and recommend candidates for the Daniels Scholarship Program.
The Daniels Fund operates the Daniels Scholarship Program and the Daniels Fund Grants Program in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. The Fund was established in 1997 by Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television known for his kindness and generosity to those in need. Visit www.danielsfund.org for more information.
Through a commitment to College Summit that includes pro-bono services and a philanthropic donation valued at $2 million for the entire organization nation-wide Deloitte & Touche, USA LLP will help increase the rate at which college-capable high school students from low-income families apply to and enroll in college. Deloitte has also provided volunteer Writing Coaches this summer and will work with partner College Summit high schools to provide post-secondary activities needed for seniors
The Denver Foundation
Established in 1925, The Denver Foundation is a community foundation dedicated to improving life in Metro Denver through philanthropy, leadership, and strengthening the community. Donnell-Kay Foundation
The first foundation to provide support and funding for College Summit-Colorado back in 1996. Donnell Kay’s initial involvement with our organization supported Workshop season for high potential youth in Metro Denver and has continued to support our efforts throughout the years for our summer workshops and our year-long curriculum. The foundation continues to be a thought partner, providing important guidance on how to proceed with school districts and funding opportunities that exist in the Metro Denver area.
The Foundation focuses on funding systemic reform and state level policy in the areas of early childhood, K-12, and higher education. The Foundation also provides operating and program funding to school districts and non-profit organizations statewide – with a focus on urban schools in metro-Denver. Visit http://www.dkfoundation.org/ for more information.
ECA Foundation
Support from the ECA Foundation began in 2001 to develop the initial infrastructure of College Summit-West Virginia’s operations and has continued to provide instrumental support for multi-regions throughout the years, including Colorado. The ECA Foundation provides a significant amount of funding and has directly impacted and transformed our community to empower low-income youth with the tools, resources, role models and support necessary to make it to college. ECA Foundation employees have engaged in summer workshop banquets, continue to volunteer during workshop season and play a vital role on our national board.
Additionally, ECA Foundation recently developed a four-year/$40K scholarship for College Summit Peer Leaders to attend Regis University.
Energy Corporation of America is the culmination of 40 years of growth and diversification. The company combines Appalachian Basin natural gas development, deep exploration, marketing, and pipeline gathering and transportation to industrial end users, utility purchasers and other customers. ECA has grown through aggressive acquisition of producing properties, targeted gas and oil exploration, and development.
Jeff and Brian Peierls from the Peierls Foundation Inc., have created the “Rising Star Scholarship” through the Hispanic Scholarship Foundation to award $2,500 in college funds to 50 Colorado students with GPAs lower than 3.0 who are selected by College Summit and other participating organizations (Colorado I Have a Dream and Colorado UpLIFT).
The Piton Foundation
The Piton Foundation continues to be a thought partner and a strategic advisor for College Summit-Colorado and a champion for making schools more effective for young people. This foundation has recently provided a very generous donation to College Summit-Colorado to ensure that approximately 1,200 Denver Public Schools seniors receive our curriculum and develop a post-secondary plan. The Piton Foundation is dedicated to our success in the region and is engaged on strengthening relations with schools districts for the upcoming years.
The Piton Foundation believes that education is a pathway out of poverty. Their vision is that all children in Denver Public Schools will achieve at their highest levels because they attend schools that effectively address the full range of their abilities and needs. Therefore, The Piton Foundation’s work in public education aims at helping low-income communities develop a continuum of quality learning opportunities from the preschool years through preparation for higher education and the workforce.
The foundation advocates for school autonomy and school choice, supports reform efforts at individual schools and works to increase philanthropic collaboration and investment in public education. Programs supported by Piton also strive to provide parents with skills to advocate effectively for their children and to help further their children’s education. The Rose Community Foundation
The Rose Community Foundation has championed our work since 1999. As a strong community advocate, the Rose Community Foundation continues to support and guide College Summit-Colorado’s approach to school reform at a systematic level. Rose Community Foundation has played a critical role in launching our partnership with Mapleton Public Schools and has allowed College Summit-Colorado to: train and equip teachers to manage students college application paths; engage teachers and empower Peer Leaders to carry skills into the classroom; Use College Summit Curriculum, CSNet, and Navigator to increase Connection Classes; Focus on 12-“13” transition; introduce curriculum that requires each student to create a Senior Portfolio.

By sponsoring a student, you will empower a high potential youth with the tools, information, role models and support to make it to college. Your sponsorship allows a student to participate in a college immersion summer workshop, provides a year-long curriculum and support to a student during their senior year, equips a student to be an influential leader among peers and supplies a student to connect with colleges.
Please consider shining a light on a low-income high potential youth in Metro Denver! We hope that you will support us in our critical work by making a donation today!
