Shawn is about student involvement in learning and displays his awareness of being the instrument of his own success. Shawn hopes to attend Clark University in Atlanta, Georgia.”
Brian Kruger, College Summit Advisor of the Month
Brian Kruger is a veteran College Summit Advisor at Roosevelt High School. He loves College Summit so much that he even served as a Workshop Director this summer! Mr. Kruger was appropriately named “College Summit Advisor of the Year” for the St. Louis region for 2007. Ms. Pam Fournier, College Summit Coordinator at Roosevelt High School shared these words about Mr. Kruger:
“Passionate is the word that comes to mind when I picture the first time that I heard Brian Kruger speak. He stood in front of the Roosevelt High School faculty and exuded enthusiasm and confidence in the College Summit program and its mission. He talked so much about the program that the principal, Terry Houston, had to gently tell him that his time was up! Mr. Kruger single-handedly changed the way the entire faculty dressed on Parent Conference day. To engender discussion, he asked all of the Roosevelt family to wear a collegiate article of clothing. A wide range of institutions of higher education were represented and students were encouraged to explore information with each person. This was a huge success!”
Ms. Pamela Fournier, College Summit Coordinator of the Month
Ms. Fournier is in her first year as the College Summit Coordinator at Roosevelt High School. Her impact on students in the St. Louis Public Schools spans thirty years. Brian Kruger, fellow Roosevelt staff member, has this to say about Ms. Fournier:
“Ms. Fournier does an outstanding job of keeping students up-to-date regarding college fairs, scholarship opportunities, college visits, ACT testing information, etc. By using CSNet's email capabilities; she has trained our College Summit students to utilize their email accounts to stay abreast of current events related to their post-secondary educational opportunities. In addition, she works collaboratively with me (the CSA) to deliver a comprehensive College Summit experience to each of our approximately 150 Roosevelt High School seniors.”
