How has College Summit helped you make the transition from high school to college?

College summit made me aware of what kind of responsibilities awaits me in college. The program showed me the importance of finances and how they can become an issue if I am not focused and on time with the FAFSA application. Additionally, I also learned through College Summit that college is nothing like high school; Expectations here are much higher. There is little room for error.

What advice do you have for current Peer Leaders?

I advise peer leaders to continue maintaining focus even though it is their senior year. What they are exposed to now is nothing compared to college work. If possible, I advise peer leaders to exercise as much maturity as possible. If not, they will see the difference between how they act and how their successful college peers act.

2009-10 Peer Leader Ambassador Council

The Peer Leader Ambassador Council, formerly Peer Leader Advisory Board, is a body of dedicated College Summit Peer Leaders engaged in the success of the College Summit program in New York. Ambassadors receive continuous leadership training, are called upon to share their College Summit experiences at various events, aid the New York office with various projects, and most recently they played key roles during the course of the Peer Leadership Conference.  The Peer Leader Ambassador Council is a platform for students to learn to be effective, positive role models to their peers and the College Summit Community.
