This event highlighted and honored the peer leaders that went through the summer trainings at our partner schools. The peer leaders also received their community service certificates at the recognition ceremony. Representatives from the school district were present at the event and Derek Canty shared a few words of wisdom. The event was also “peer leader ran”; they took part in co-facilitating the event with Alumni and Operations Associate Loubert Senatus. There was also the proclamation from the City Mayor Carlos Alvarez of Miami-Dade County (which was read by our development director Karen Guy) that proclaimed October 27, “College Summit Day”.
