Wall of Honor

For the third straight year, partner high schools were given the challenge to create the best Wall of Honor celebrating their students applying and being accepted to college. We’ve seen spray painted lockers, floor to ceiling pennants, and photos of students enlarged to poster size. Each year the schools get more competitive and creative. Those attending the Heart, Mind and Spirit Awards on May 26, 2010 were treated to a slide show and able to appreciate the fun and creativity evident in each entry. The winners were announced and presented with awards at the ceremony.

Congratulations to the seven schools that competed this year: June Jordan School for Equity, Excel, Leadership Preparatory High School, Lionel Wilson College Preparatory Academy, Media Academy, Youth Empowerment School, and Mandela Law and Public Service Academy. Honorable Mentions were given to Media Academy and Youth Empowerment School.

Taking home beautifully engraved plaques were Lionel Wilson College Preparatory Academy and Mandela Law and Public Service Academy.
