This summer College Summit is looking for Alumni to hold the following positions:

Alumni Leader

The Alumni Leader role is a great opportunity to give back to other students a gift that was shared with them, while at the same time furthering both their personal and professional development. Alumni are the foundation and most influential role at the workshop as they serve as role models of how powerful the workshop experience can be if Peer Leaders take advantage of the opportunity that is presented over the course of the workshop. Having been through a College Summit workshop as a Peer Leader, they are uniquely situated to offer advice, guidance, encouragement and reassurance to students throughout their workshop experience.

Qualifications

  • Alumnus of College Summit
  • Completion of at least one year of college
  • Experience and/or willingness to work with diverse populations
  • Desire to build leadership skills
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility
Stipend Amount

$300.00 per workshop

Deadlines

Priority Staffing Deadline: April 4, 2008

Early Deadline: April 25, 2008

Final Deadline: May 15, 2008

Note: Staffing is done on a rolling basis, the earlier you apply the better your chance of securing a placement at a workshop.

Alumni Leader Coordinator (Currently all positions are filled)

Alumni Leader Coordinators are responsible for training and managing a team of Alumni to meeting their goals. They are responsible for establishing a strong cohesive Alumni Team that is committed to supporting Peer Leaders through the weekend and ensuring their safety at all times. ALCs are part of the Core Team and serve as a bridge between the behind the scenes administrative tasks and daily direct service to students. They will be trained on CSNav (our new technology tool) to support computer lab sessions and will provide coaching to their Alumni team on how to effectively support students during writing sessions. The ALC will serve as the lead facilitator of the Tower of Power and Alumni-led sessions.

Required Qualifications
  • Completed one year of college by summer 2008
  • Served as an Alumni Leader
  • Desire to build leadership skills
  • High energy level and flexibility
  • Passionate about working with youth
  • Committed to the mission of College Summit

Note: Must be able to attend training April 10 - 13, 2008.

Desired Qualities (not required)
  • Completed two years of college by summer 2008
  • Supervisory/management/coaching experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability during past experience
Stipend Amount

$500.00 per workshop  

Note: Alumni Leader Coordinators will be hired as seasonal staff and will be paid on the same pay cycle as full-time College Summit employees - the 15th and 31st of each month.

Early Deadline: February 22, 2008 (All applicants who submit all of their materials by this date are guaranteed an interview.)
